New Year in Pink

What will 2011 bring ? I am hoping something spectacular. In the meanwhile, I tell time in Hot Pink. This clock was purchased in Hong Kong at Franc Franc. Since it is super humid there, the clock also comes with a Humidity meter. Nice.

Be Green in Pink

Every book needs a cover, yes ? So why wouldn't my Nook ?
I was instantly enraptured with this one by Kate Spade. Now back to

I'm back .. with more PINK things..

Ok so I took a break. A long break. In the past two and a half years, I came back to USA, got a job, changed job, and continued to accumulate HOT PINK things. I do miss HK now and then. But NY is where my heart is !

So my dad decided to take my lovely GOLD Canon Powershot...claiming he needs it when his tenant leaves. I know his ulterior motive. Why can't parents JUST be honest ? Just found out the scan disk for my sad broken Kodak camera is with the new camera case ! Arrgh!

My Pink Work Diary

I bought this at Jcrew. Will be my next Diary ( as my boss puts it) at work. How can you not smile and have a better day while using this ?

Pink fade

The color gradation trend is coming back. It seems to be everywhere and that is quite irritating. 3 years back, I bought a Club Monaco cardigan where the mauve melted into deep purple. It was lovely and delicious. I guess I can whip it out for work come fall. Back then, the style wasn't everywhere - CM just thought of it for that season. But now it seems all fashion labels high and low are doing it. I am caught in the web.
I bought this at Bread n Butter ( oh im going to miss this clothing line when i go back to NY) when it first came out. I said buy now or it will be gone tomorrow. I got the first one and it was literally just put on the mannequin. And the only size 0 so I guess I literally took the dress off the mannequin's back :) Well the sales girl did. It is so nice for the humid nasty hot weather of HK. I felt light and breezy and pretty.

House of Rococo Pink

I have to let you know - my childhood wishes were never fulfilled. I never had a pink room, pink bed, a pink dollhouse, pink toys. Instead they were yellow - then wallpaper roses -, gold brass, a white paper house that verged on collapse, and hardly any toys. But now I think my dreams will finally come true ! The other day I told my husband that I will dedicate one room in our apartment to be all pink. He replied " You mean when we have a house." Shouldn't he be thanking the heavens I am not threatening to splash pink all over the apartment - that as a courtesy I contain everything in one room ? Well, whatever he may say, there will be one pink room AND also pink infused all through our future dwelling in NYC. We recently purchased the following items at Franc Franc - a Japanese store with the coolest and modern household furniture, kitchenware, houseware.... I was ready to buy a HOT PINK vanity table - it would be perfect for a tiny apartment. But alas, it was too expensive.
Here are the items:
1.) Picture frame

I had just printed ANOTHER picture of my puppy, Ruby, and I needed a nice frame. I saw this lovely frame and I grabbed it instantly ( well after opening 5 boxes of frames to find the perfect one with the least imperfections.) My apartment by the way has more pictures of my puppy then my husband and I.

2.) Mirror

Everytime I went to Franc Franc in the space of 4 months, I would always stop by this mirror. It had the perfect design that I LOVE. I intend to wallpaper one side of my future dining area with this design and a red chandelier dangling in the center. Yesterday, I finally broke down and bought it. I was afraid I will never be able to buy it if I kept waiting. I lost the chance for a Rococo Clock and it is breaking my heart.

3.) Pen holder

I was thinking of buying this last time I went to Franc Franc. Again, it had the design that I love. Do you not see the same theme going on in my three items ? Well I bought this yesterday with the mirror because I was given HK$30 free for my purchase of the mirror. Now I need another one in black.

After finishing this entry, I realized I am obsessed with the Rococo design.

I had to show you all the painting I got from a mainland China artist that my husband and I bought for our one year anniversary. He said the gift for the one year should be something paper related. I passed by this painting a few times in the gallery and I loved it. I tried to recreate this in watercolor but I just don't have the talent and skill.
The frame killed the picture - when we go back to NYC I intend to remove it and hang it without a frame. I told my husband it didn't need a frame - he didn't believe me. Later on, I showed him paintings in design magazines without the frame and he finally thought it was a good idea to remove it. He should trust me when it comes to design and fashion if nothing else.

A Gift to Give

This is my final flower gift arrangement which I must say is my favorite design. I think it has something to do with the pink accented roses. It uses a green dish and oasis ( the foam where you stick your flowers ). You can pretty much display it as is without taking off the ribbon and decorative paper. If you did, it wouldn't look right. Pretty simple to do.

Anthropologie Addict

I have a confession - it has caused recent arguments and frustrations with the male species who knows not a thing about the joy of clothing shopping. Apparently I should only buy things that I need. What the HELL is that ? I need everything. Sorry. -
I always loved Anthropologie. Now it has been an obsession. Since I've matured quite a bit, my tastes in clothes have also gotten older. That store has the sweetest/unique but mature clothes I have ever come across. The price is a bit high but manageable. It is worth it since I can get pretty and not your average style goods from small unknown labels. Isn't that the best thing anyway ?
Now I am not saying that I love ALL their clothes - I don't need to look like a forest with birds and greenery or a butterfly zoo. But they do have some frilly things in my second favorite color - Cream. I am awaiting this when I go back to NY in May :



I noticed they opened a store at Rockefeller. Guess where you will find me every day when I am in NYC in May ?

Heading back to NY soon. Thank GAWD. I am so over my place of birth ( HK ).

Well I don't know where I will be living. But I have tons of ideas of what I want in my lovely pad( hopefully in NYC and not in the outer boroughs. I mean how many years do I have left to enjoy ME until the screaming kids become my world. No worries though really...because I always will love to buy myself things...)

I was browsing another bloggers blog, and I came across a chandelier that I always liked. Never knew it can come in Hot Pink. Now if it was baby pink, it be perfect. Only $125 !

Welcome

Who doesn't love pink ? Well I didn't when I was a child. I tried to be different from the other girls - if they wore pink hairclips, I chose blue. Who wants to be so girly girly ? Then in my college years, I got bit by the Pink bug. I became SO Girly. I never said "EWW" so much in my life nor be such a Prissy Diva in my pass 20 years of life.
Its been many moons since my college days. I'm a little bit more mature and not as girly. Now, when I see pink things, I get a rush (and whip out my credit card) and then a calm happy. Well before all this, my eyes open a little bit wider and my pupils dilate a bit more.
Since I prefer to be in a happy zen mode rather than a panicky lose control , world is over state, my blog is dedicated to all things pink....Creams thrown in now and then because I like Cream as well.
